Michael Jackson -The KING OF POP dies at 50

Michael Jackson, is dead is the first thing that i heard today while my husband was switching channels to confirm the news and to our disbelief and shock it was true. And my heart became heavy to lose the best entertainer the world has ever seen. With his monster hits like Thriller, Billie Jean, Black or White, Heal the World, Bad, Dangerous, Beat it, History, Jam, Childhood,Earth Song,Scream, Smooth Criminal, Say Say Say, Rockin' Robin....just to name a few, his popularity lasted for decades.

MJ was a very dominant figure in the early 80's and was referred to as the KING OF POP. Truly his music influenced not only a generation of singers and songwriters but us specially during our teens as we grew up trying to mimic his signature dance, his all time popular Moon Walk. Oh, I still remember our class did a break dance in my 5th standard on one of my fav song Black or white for my school annual day function. His songs as i listen to them takes me back to my childhood days. I remember his music videos were aired on MTV. His songs were at the tip of our tongue. Even the word DANCE had a new synonym. DANCE meant Michael Jackson. With his stage performances and music videos, MJ popularized a number of physically complicated dance moves of which the popular one's are the Moon Walk and Robot. I see these steps been copied by a lot of people specially in the Bollywood by our Actors like Prabhu Deva, Govinda, Javed Jaffery. He had a very different musical sound and style which i will say as his Trademark. His Album " Thriller" is the worlds best selling record of all times and i am proud to say i have saved my copy.

His achievements include holding the Guinness World record for the 'Most Successful Entertainer of All Time', 13 Grammy Awards, 13 no 1 singles, one of the few artists to be into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. As a child he faced lot of abuses, physical and mental, from his father but he was a child with great musical gifts. His childhood abuses were so traumatizing that in his latter years, during his many interviews he openely cried while talking about it. Jackson showed his musical talent early, during his childhood by performing in front of his classmates, later joining the band with his brothers and naming the band as THE JACKSON 5. From leaving the band in the 1975, to his best seller and ever popular album Thriller, bleaching his skin, to falling into controversy of child abuse, and now his Death, Michael Jackson still remains the heartthrob of many music lovers and will be ever remembered for his contribution and the revelation he brought to the world of Pop Music.

As we remember him as Man who loves his fans, surely this is what he would wish to leave us with:

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
